Best Creatine Supplement for Women in Kenya

G MBURU |

There is no creatine supplements made for men or made for women. Creatine taste is well tolerated across the board, and creatine dosage is weight-based, not gender-based.

TL;DR

  1. There is no special creatine that women must take. Creatine is not fundamentally a male or female supplement.

  2. Accent Nutrition Clean Creatine is my personal favorite because I found it much easier on my stomach compared with some other creatines I tried.

  3. Creatine use should be individualized. Your goals, body size, diet, tolerance, and training matter more than whether you are male or female.

We keep getting this question from ladies in Kenya: Which is the best creatine for women?

Before I give you my recommendation, let me address a few things so that you understand creatine better.

1. Creatine Is Mostly Tasteless

For the most part, pure creatine monohydrate is almost tasteless, so you do not have to worry too much about taste.

You will find some creatine products that have been flavored. I have seen watermelon, fruit punch, and other flavored creatines.

Personally, I prefer plain creatine because flavored versions may contain added sweeteners, flavorings, or other ingredients that you may not necessarily need.

If you want something simple, I would choose a product where the main ingredient is simply creatine monohydrate.

2. Creatine Is Not Really a “Men’s” or “Women’s” Supplement

One of the biggest misconceptions is that women need a completely different type of creatine from men.

Creatine itself is not gender-specific.

The amount somebody chooses to take can depend on things such as body size, training goals, diet, tolerance, and the reason they are supplementing.

For general fitness, many people use a relatively small daily maintenance dose. Some research studies examining other possible uses of creatine have tested different or higher amounts, but that does not mean everyone should automatically take those doses.

The important point is this:

There is no special female creatine and a separate male creatine.

3. Your Goals Matter

Different people take creatine for different reasons.

Some people are interested in:

  • Strength

  • Gym performance

  • Muscle development

  • Recovery

  • General fitness

Creatine is also being researched for possible benefits beyond exercise, including certain aspects of brain function, but those areas are still being studied.

So instead of asking, “What is the female dose?” I think the better question is:

What are you trying to achieve by taking creatine?

So Which Is the Best Creatine for Women?

From my personal experience, I would still go with Accent Nutrition Clean Creatine.

The biggest reason is tolerance.

I previously tried USN creatine and Optimum Nutrition creatine. Both gave me very uncomfortable stomach cramps shortly after taking them, sometimes bad enough that I felt nauseated.

I started reading reviews and looking for alternatives because I wanted to know whether other people had experienced the same problem.

That is how I came across Clean Creatine.

When I tried Accent Nutrition Clean Creatine, I personally found it much easier on my stomach.

I later tried AllGain Creatine as well and also found it very tolerable. I did not experience the stomach cramps I had experienced with some of the other creatine products I had used.

Of course, everybody responds differently. A creatine product that agrees with me may not necessarily feel exactly the same for someone else.

For me, however, tolerance is extremely important. It doesn't matter how popular a creatine brand is if taking it makes you feel terrible every day.

What Should Women Look for When Buying Creatine?

Instead of looking for a container that says “Creatine for Women,” I would pay more attention to the actual product.

Look for a straightforward creatine supplement, preferably based on creatine monohydrate, with as few unnecessary ingredients as possible.

Then pay attention to how your body responds to it.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney problems, take regular medication, or have another medical condition, speak with a qualified healthcare professional before starting creatine or significantly changing your supplement intake.
